The 2009 calendar year has brought an addition of multiple services to the UF Computing Help Desk to better serve the UF Community. The following services have been added since the Spring of 2009 and continue to grow as the University’s needs expand:

Heavily discounted sales of Adobe media (up to 80% off retail sellers)

The Adobe media and prices being distributed by the UF Computing Help Desk can be found on the UF Computing Help Desk’s main site.  Licenses are restricted to ONE per user and for the personal use of the faculty, staff or student.  Special ordering for licenses not found readily in stock can be arranged.

Laptop Drop-Off Services

Clients can now bring in their laptops to the UF Computing Help Desk, and after a brief consultation about their specific situation they can drop-off their laptops. The drop-off process should take around 15 minutes and would require an appointment. Turnaround time for dropped off laptops is expected to be 24-48 hours during the business week. In the unlikely event that the repair time is longer, the client will be contacted by our technical consultants. The specific situations that are covered by this service are:

This service is in addition to our current laptop appointment and walk-in service, where clients can bring their computers in for an evaluation. If at that time the client wants the laptop to be repaired, our consultants will do so with the client’s presence and approval.

Departmental Print/Plot service paid by P.O.

If your curriculum requires that students prepare print or plot assignments, your department may arrange to pay, with a Purchase Order, for specific print/plot services for your students’ class assignments. Extended weekend hours

As of this year, the UF Computing Help Desk has expanded its hours to provide weekend support. While in the past, we were only open on select Sundays from 6:00pm-10:00pm, the Help Desk now provides account and consulting service on both Saturdays and Sundays from 12:00pm-6:00pm, except on holiday weekends and on the Saturdays when there are home football games.
