Mediasite

Summer 2008 -

Mediasite is a presentation tool that allows instructors to make live digital recordings of lectures or presentations. Students can view their class presentations over the internet in real-time, or access the presentation as a podcast for viewing at a later date. Additionally, Mediasite allows instructors to simultaneously show media in two windows — for example, PowerPoint slides in one window and a video feed in another window. More »

Videoconference Endpoint Certification and Database

Spring 2008 -

Beginning in Spring 2008, Video & Collaboration Services will begin testing and certifying videoconferencing units. The certification process will provide VCS with important details for support, and supply information for a searchable database of videoconference locations at UF. More »

Introducing Elluminate!

Spring 2008 -

Elluminate is a service that provides online chat/conversation using text and voice. Video interaction can also be integrated. As such, it creates a synchronous, interactive “virtual classroom” for lectures, discussions, and collaboration. More »

Streaming Rich Media Using MediaSite

Fall 2007 -

An improved method of distributing streaming video presentations on the web is now available. By using the MediaSite system, we are now able to provide Rich Media presentations that combine regular Windows Media streaming video with high-resolution graphics captured directly from a computer.
