TA Development Workshop Series
This fall the AT Teaching Center and the Graduate School will once again conduct TA Orientation followed by our TA Development Workshop series. The two-day orientation for teaching assistants begins August 17th and is required for all new TA’s. The series of approximately 20 professional development workshops – taught by professors from various UF departments – will help all teaching assistants improve their teaching skills. More »

Are You Legal? Copyright and Fair Use in the Classroom
Making use of other’s works for classroom use can raise questions regarding copyright and fair use. The most common questions usually surround copying articles from journals, images from the web, and excerpts from books. Copyright law gives legal protection to mostly all text, graphics, recordings, and other materials that might be desirable to use in class, even when the works do not include a statement regarding copyright. Free Faculty Workshops Online!
The University of Florida’s Division of Continuing Education (DCE) has enrolled in the “College Pass” as well as the Premium Sloan Consortium membership. This allows faculty in the University of Florida community to be members and also gives us 100 seats in all of their workshops as well as 50 seats in selected workshops. Workshops still available for 2008 include titles such as:

CITT Winter Workshop Schedule: More New Classes!
Back by popular demand, we will be facilitating the “Get a Second Life” workshop in January at the CITT in collaboration with Library West faculty. We will also be featuring a more advanced Second Life workshop to increase your skills in the virtual world.
Online Training for CLAST Administrators
Beginning this fall semester, College Level Academic Skills Test (CLAST) test administrators across the State of Florida will complete online training developed and managed by UF Academic Technology personnel. The interactive training program includes videos, scenarios, games, and quizzes to educate institutional test administrators (ITAs), room supervisors, and proctors concerning CLAST legislation and test administration.
