Social Bookmarking & Citations

Social Citations refer to websites that allow a user to store, sort, classify, share, and search a collection of bookmarked resources.

Social Bookmarking sites allow users to collect web pages, images, videos, and audio files that are stored on the Internet. The categorization and review of links creates a folksonomy of information that the user and other users can view on the Internet. Office 2007 & Vista Upgrades Available

Microsoft released Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007 and Vista Ultimate in the early part of 2007. Now that distribution of these products is in full swing, Software Licensing Services is able to distribute Office Enterprise 2007 and Vista Ultimate through the University of Florida’s Microsoft Campus Agreement. Streaming Rich Media Using MediaSite

An improved method of distributing streaming video presentations on the web is now available. By using the MediaSite system, we are now able to provide Rich Media presentations that combine regular Windows Media streaming video with high-resolution graphics captured directly from a computer. E-Learning Upgrade

The new E-Learning system finally launched on August 17th, 2007 for the Fall term, after months of behind-the-scenes hard labor. The Hub: Open for 2007!

A new era has begun in 2007 for the Office of Academic Technology, with the newly remodeled Hub. Shared with the UF International Center, the Hub centralizes a number of AT services in the new central campus location. The centerpiece of the building is the new UF Computing Help Desk facility, which greatly increases the Help Desk’s ability to serve the UF community. Continue Reading »
